Hyper Cycle

Hello fellow car junkies,

So today I want to take a look at where myCARiD might fit in to Gartner’s Hyper Cycle. So first let take a look that five point on the Hyper Cycle.

1 Technology Trigger A tech discovery spurs new growth. Early tales and media interest spurs publicity. No products and commercial viability isn’t proven
2 Peak of inflated expectations News produced both success stories and failures. Some take actions others don’t
3 Trough of Disillusionment Interest declines. Fails to delivery on promises
4 Slope of enlightenment Benefits start to be seen and accepted. Further generations prove to be affective
5 Plateau of productive Mainstream catches on. Productive takes a steady pace

As Jake Aull said the Hyper Cycle has the best names!

While this is a simplified version of Gartner’s Hyper Cycle that can be studied in-depth at http://www.gartner.com/technology/research/methodologies/hype-cycle.jsp I would really suggest take a more in depth look at the Gartner’s Hyper Cycle to have better understanding of the topic. I would say that myCARiD is most likely Trough Disillusionment make its way towards the Slope of Enlightenment. I would say this as it obviously past the Technology Trigger phase. I say this because the platform has been around for a few years, so it is defiantly not in this part of Gartner’s Hyper Cycle anymore. Also when we look at the amount of traffic we can see that it has taken a decline since its peak performance times. So it has passed the Peak of Inflated Expectations of Gartner’s Hyper Cycle. So that would leave us in the Trough of Disillusionment of the hyper cycle. Why do I think we may be exercising the Slope of Enlightenment? I have been a member of the site for more than a year at this point in time. One thing I see that is happening is that post are moving fast achieving more like than ever before. Concurrently at the same time while new member seem to join the platform. This leads me to the belief that the platform is starting to gain traction again. I would suggest getting on the platform for your brand now to gain a large influence before it becomes difficult to gain a large enough influence yield an impact.
